Summary

The London market starts the year unsure of its place in Europe. Brexit threatens to remake the relationship between UK-based brokers and carriers on one hand, and their continental colleagues on the other.

The legal and regulatory changes ahead may be easy or difficult to navigate, and depend on the outcome of tense negotiations between the UK and EU.

Yet, the European continent has never seemed in greater need of the depth of underwriting expertise to be found in London.

Whether it be in closing the natural catastrophe protection gap in central and southern Europe, guarding against the consequences of state-sponsored cyber-attacks, or dealing with intensifying political risk, there remain enormous opportunities – and challenges – for UK players in Europe.

Tune in at 11:00am GMT on Feb. 28 to hear a panel of industry experts debate these trends, and more.
