Richard Meade is the Editor of Lloyd’s List. He is an award-winning journalist and has been writing and talking about all aspects of the maritime industry and global trade for the past twenty years. As Editor he is responsible for navigating The List’s subscribers through the volatile politics, policy, deals and market movements that make up nearly 90% of global trade. He is also the host of the popular Lloyd’s List Shipping Podcast and a regular industry speaker and media commentator on all things shipping. He joined Lloyd’s List in 2006 as News Editor after jumping ship from the weekly maritime magazine Fairplay and prior to that started his career at the Financial Times.

Pierre Guillemin

Pierre Guillemin is the head of technology of Wärtsilä Voyage, the company’s new arm dedicated to transforming maritime ecosystems by leveraging the latest digital technologies. As a technology leader with a passion for building, his roots are in R&D where his background developing large scale solutions and search engines helped him to gather a strong domain knowledge in cutting edge services. As a “jack-of-all-trades” Guillemin has been at the forefront of data-driven product innovation for a decade in the maritime industry, first as the Chief Architect of Eniram before joining Wärtsilä to lead Digital R&D.

Sven Brooks

Sven Brooks is senior director of IoT business development for global VSAT provider KVH, with a primary focus on the KVH Watch suite of maritime IoT solutions. KVH Watch provides Flow, secure 24/7/365 machine-to-cloud satellite connectivity for remote monitoring of onboard equipment plus the ability to perform on-demand Remote Expert Interventions using video, voice, or text via KVH’s global HTS network. Mr. Brooks has nearly 20 years of experience in the maritime industry with expertise in integrated bridge systems, smart and connected vessels, ship operations, and fleet management solutions. He has held positions in London, Rotterdam, and Hong Kong. Mr. Brooks has an EMBA in Shipping & Logistics from the Copenhagen Business School and a business degree from FH Nordakademie in Elmshorn, Germany. He is based in Hamburg, Germany.

Ioannis Martinos

Signal Group

Ioannis Martinos is the CEO and Founder of Signal, a group of companies that combines commercial ship management with technological innovation aimed at enhancing performance across the shipping and commodities trading sectors. Signal Ocean, the group’s tech startup, has developed The Signal Ocean Platform, a B2B SaaS software adopted by about 50% of the oil transportation industry including some of the industry’s biggest players. Signal Maritime is the group’s commercial ship management arm that has quickly grown to be one of the world’s highest performing Aframax commercial pools. Prior to founding The Signal Group in 2014, Ioannis forged his shipping experience over a decade-long tenure with Thenamaris, a leading and fully integrated ship management company, where he rotated through a number of management roles before assuming the position of co-CEO in 2013. Ioannis holds degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University, and Aeronautical Engineering from MIT.

The combination of technology and shipping skills enables Ioannis in his vision to bring Signal technology to help power every commercial decision in shipping.

Søren Christian Meyer

Søren took on the Chief Executive Officer role for ZeroNorth in January 2020. Prior to this, Soren held different leadership roles in Maersk Tankers, including Chief Asset Officer, Chief Strategy & Transformation Officer and Head of MR vessels. Before joining Maersk Tankers in 2015, he was Vice President at O.W. Bunker & Trading. Søren is passionate about tackling climate change and driving business growth with a greater purpose.
